Marjorie Stone, MSW, LICSW
Creative Alliances Geriatric Care Manager
Marjorie Stone brings a wealth of geriatric care management and social work experience to Creative Alliances, together with a commitment to ethical and caring service to the elderly. Hers was one of the first Degrees in Social Work with an emphasis in Geriatrics to be awarded by Boston University School of Social Work.
Marjorie's first geriatric social work experience was in 1975 when she worked with a respected outreach program dedicated to helping elders remain independent and at home by providing interdisciplinary support services. The program was, at the time, experimental, and became the model for much of the services offered by all care management companies today.
She has supervised social workers and expressive therapy students. Marjorie has experience with all levels of need in the elderly population, from those requiring only some physical assistance to severe dementia. Her years of experience include community mental health service, skilled nursing facility social work, and care management in private companies. She has also implemented and coordinated music therapy programs for dementia residents in long-term care. As her entire career has been in Greater Boston, she adds to Creative Alliances a wealth of knowledge of the entire community servicing the needs of the elderly in this area and her clients benefit from this knowledge.
Ms. Stone received her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and her M.S.W. from Boston University. She is married with two grown children. She enjoys boating, music and crafts and exercise.
