Helen Kass, M.Ed.
Geriatric Care Manager
Helen Kass brings a wonderful background in counseling and education to Creative Alliances. Her work in human development has spanned the life cycle including parenting, vocational, and aging issues.
After advising students at Brandeis, Lesley, and Wheelock Colleges for many years, she has focused her skills on the needs of elders and their families. Helen has directed a home health agency based on the theories of Erik Erikson, the renowned development psychologist. She also later supervised case managers and nurses in the Massachusetts Home Care system.
Drawing upon Erikson's insights, Helen has developed expertise in supporting Alzheimer's patients and their families throughout the various phases of the disease process. Her proficiency in this are has proven to be very advantageous to Creative Alliances' clients and their families as they seek to find solutions to meet their current and future needs.
Helen is often invited to give workshops and seminars on aging and home care, and over the years she has volunteered with many organizations. Among them are Minuteman Home Care, Jewish Community housing for the Elderly, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, and the Alzheimer's Task Force of Cambridge and Somerville.
Ms Kass received her M.Ed. in counseling from Northeastern University and a B.A. from Brandeis University.
Helen enjoys a variety of activities in her spare time. Some of those include canoeing, cross-country skiing, walking, gardening, music, cooking, and reading.
